The Skoda Fabia is a supermini with a choice of trims plus several petrol and diesel engines to choose from.

The latest Skoda Fabia has a range of hatchback and estate body styles, more so than used Skoda Fabia vehicles.

There is a nine engine line-up with optional seven-speed DSG gearbox including a vRS model producing 180PS and a GreenLine II model with carbon dioxide output of 89g/km.

Power outputs for the Skoda Fabia’s petrol units range from 60PS to 105PS while the four diesel engines deliver between 75PS and 105PS.

The Skoda Fabia offers eight trim levels which are S, SE, SE Plus, Elegance, Monte Carlo, vRS, Scout and GreenLine II.

All Skoda Fabia models feature dual front, side and curtain airbags, electric front windows and an MP3 compatible CD radio with aux-in socket.

Step up to the SE model on the Skoda Fabia an the Czech company adds air conditioning and alloy wheels.

The Skoda Fabia has pronounced wheel arches which combine with a rising waistline. There is a wraparound windscreen. The Skoda Fabia’s front end includes a large radiator grille and headlights that go up the wings of the car. There are large rear windows while the tail light units have a C-shaped light cluster.

The Skoda Fabia has a gap between the bonnet and the engine to meet pedestrian safety regulations.

The supermini has the option of a contrasting roof colour.

The Fabia has a high driving position with all models having height adjustment on the driver’s seat, along with height and reach adjustment on the steering wheel.

The interior sees chrome-trimmed air vent inserts, gear lever frame and handbrake button.

The Skoda Fabia hatchback’s load capacity with the rear seats up is 315 litres of space while the estate has 505 litres.

The Skoda Fabia’s parcel shelf can be set at two different heights, varying the boot capacity, and the parcel shelf can be stored behind the rear seats.

The Skoda Fabia comes with the option of a touchscreen entertainment system on many models.

The supermini can also be specified with an optional Multi Device Interface for use with iPod, Aux-In, USB and Mini-USB devices.

This replaces the previous CD changer and is located in the lower glovebox.

The Fabia also features a GSM phone integration system which is able to maintain two different Bluetooth connections at the same time via audio streaming.

Both connections can be operated via the buttons on the optional multi-function leather steering wheel.

Voice control can be activated via a button on the multi-function leather steering wheel.

The Skoda Fabia vRS model has a rear spoiler, front spoiler with integrated LED lights, 17-inch alloys and red brake callipers. There are also twin exhausts and tinted windows.

There is also the availability of a contrasting roof colour along with white, dark chrome and black alloy wheel finishes.

The Skoda Fabia’s vRS has height adjustable sports seats along with a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. The latter is fitted with paddles for manual control of the seven-speed DSG gearbox.

The Fabia vRS has a 1.4-litre TSI 180PS engine which gives the model a 0-62mph time of 7.3 seconds on its way to a top speed of 139mph in the five-door hatch and 140mph in the estate.

The 1.4-litre TSI engine features both a turbocharger and a supercharger with peak torque of 250Nm available between 2,000 - 4,500 rpm. More than 200Nm is available between 1,250 - 6,000 rpm.

The engine uses direct fuel injection and dual-charging via a turbocharger and a mechanical supercharger. An intercooler increases the volume of air within the combustion chambers. The injectors run at pressures of up to 150 bar.
